EARTH IS SINGING – TURQUOISE IRISES

Artistic processes often inform the next step of creation for the Artist. With a ‘Dry Point’ etch technique applied to the ‘Irises’ sequence, the Artist closely inspects the qualities of singular line on metal printing plate. Using line to her advantage, coloured printing ink is rubbed into the different parts of the plate. The outcome from the etch plates in this instance, resulted in a soft turquoise mood of colour, contrasted by a strong expression of pure and simple line, reminiscent of the line drawings of Matisse.
